Submission due for 3 Minute Flash Talks

Black in Immuno is hosting a 3 minute flash talk competition for Black in Immuno Week 2023!

Black identifying undergraduate students, Master’s students, Graduate students, and Postdocs are invited to participate by recording a video summarizing their immunology-focused scientific research in a compelling way to a non-specialist audience in 3 minutes or less.

Videos will be judged based on comprehension, content, communication and engagement by an esteemed panel of judges.

Rewards will be given for First place ($300) and Second place ($200). There will also be a community choice winner ($100) who will be chosen by community votes via twitter.

Submissions are open now and will close on Sunday October 29th at 11:59PM EDT / Monday, October 24th 3:59AM UTC, and winners will be announced during Black in Immuno week on November 9th.

Submission due for 3 Minute Flash Talks

BlackInImmunoWeek Keynote with Dr. Faith Osier

Dr. Faith Osier is a Professor of Malaria Immunology and the Executive Director of the IAVI Human Immunology Laboratory at Imperial College London. IAVIs mission is to translate scientific discoveries into affordable, globally accessible public health solutions. Her team includes scientists, managers and operational staff, PhD and Masters’ students. The project portfolio includes HIV, TB, Emerging Infectious Diseases – Marburg, Lassa, Ebola, Covid-19 – and Malaria. The projects span discovery science, preclinical and clinical vaccine development. The lab specializes in GCLP-grade immunoassays to enable product registration with regulatory authorities and is the central biorepository for IAVIs clinical research centers worldwide.
